They often say, God never gives only a single talent...
An amazing personality, Ivo Josipovic is not only a successful politician (former president of Croatia), a professor of Law Faculty of Zagreb University and legal expert, but an exceptional composer and pianist that has published numerous compact disks with his instrumental, chamber and symphony music, and at the moment working on an opera.
Ivo Josipovic - composer, lawyer, politician, President of Croatia 2010-2015
Recently Ksenia had a pleasure to meet Ivo Josipovic and discover his music. She was deeply impressed by his compositions, and confessed in her interview to Croatian radio that she's been excited to learn how strongly his style corresponds to her creative personality. Ksenia always looks for a new inspiration and fresh music for her original projects. Meeting this wonderful composer inspired Ksenia to prepare a new program that would include Josipovic music.

KOGAN & YOON: Triumph in Zagreb
Pianist Ksenia Kogan and violinist Soyoung Yoon have recently conquered Croatian capital! Experienced and knowledgable Zagreb's audience had quite a shot of energising classical repertoire that night - Wieniawski 1st Violin Concerto and Grieg Piano Concerto have been presented at the same first half of the concert. Then in the second half two soloists have merged in a young and vivid spirit of early Mendelssohn Double concerto, that they have previously recorded on DUX label. The evening has been beautifully accompanied by the Orchestra of the Croatian Radio-Television under masterful conducting of Maestro Tomislav Facini. The sold-out Lisinski Concert Hall was granting musicians with never-ending applauses and standing ovations.

Ksenia Kogan

NEW VIDEO of Ksenia's performance in Moscow
Ksenia's performances in Queen Elizabeth hall in London and Konzerthaus in Berlin with the project "Report on the Blind" were followed by a concert in Great hall of Moscow Conservatory on February, 24. Ksenia returned to Russia for the first time after several years and admitted that she was happy to re-enter the stage of her alma mater Tchaikovsky conservatory.
This time Alfred Schnittke Concerto for piano and string orchestra has been presented in its original version - without narration or any theatrical action, which seemed to be appreciated by the Moscow audience. There were some known musicians/ Moscovites in the audience who had also attended the premiere of this concerto many years ago, interpreted by Vladimir Krainev to whom this piece was dedicated by the composer himself. They stated that Ksenia has brought a fresh and different vision to this music filling it with a profound concept and tension, and was still able to keep the Schnittke spirit and his original style. Despite great respect for Schnittke's music in Russia, this concerto is a rare piece in pianists' repertoires and isn't performed often in concert. Pinchas Zukerman and Amanda Forsyth shared the stage with Kogan in Moscow in this event titled "Starry Night Concert" .
German Premiere of the Report on the Blind
On the 24th of February 2015 the project “Report on the Blind” will present its German premiere that will take place in Berlin's Konzerthaus. The Konzerthaus is a concert hall situated on the Gendarmenmarkt square, in the central Mitte district of Berlin housing the German orchestra Konzerthausorchester Berlin. Built as a theatre from 1818 to 1821 under the name of the Schauspielhaus Berlin, its usage changed to a concert hall after the Second World War and its name changed to its present one in 1994. All the performers remain the same as in London; however, there is a slight change in the program: in the beginning of the concert the audience will hear Prelude and Scherzo Op.11 by another Russian composer of the 20th century Dmitry Shostakovich that together with Alfred Schnittke Concerto creates a unified spirit of the Russian culture of the past century.
